Since your demo website is down, are there any screenshots available? A static/saved version of the website would also be useful (wget --mirror).

Also, you might want to remove the broken contact link at the bottom of the readme.

I firstly tried Calibre-Server however it required some hack to make it work on the server environment using tools such as xvfb and imagemagick. Also it was quite heavy on the server (constant 40-50% CPU usage all the time)

You might want to reconsider this. Calibre-server does not require xserver or imagemagick, at least today. I'm currently running calibre-server with ~1400 ebooks (~2700 files, ) on the smallest-available digital ocean server with neither x11-common or imagemagick packages installed, and it only idles at around 2-6% cpu usage.
