Introduction

This is a code repository for the corresponding video tutorial.

In this video, we're going to build a Conversational Voice Controlled React News Application using Alan AI. Alan AI is a revolutionary speech recognition software that allows you to add voice capabilities to your applications. It allows you to control absolutely everything in the app using your voice. Another huge benefit is that it's extremely easy to integrate it. We'll do it together in this video and afterward, you'll be able to create your own voice-controlled apps.

Setup:

run npm i && npm start to start development server

Jobs Script + Product deals script

Hi i followed your tutorial found it great but was wondering if you could add scripts for jobs and product deals rather than news as Alan AI have a few scripts would be nice to try different things thank you

errors in Alan studio script

I guess they have changed the whole syntax in alan studio
neither p.source.value or p.source works, hence no request is being made to the news api and there are many more errors

Build error

Hey so i followed the tutorial and made my own version of this with the idea of developing the alan capabilities, however when i run npm run build, alan doesnt work once deployed, i've checked console this is the error im getting.

Would love any help ! please and thank you

Uncaught User Exception (!articles.length)

line 18, 44, 74 in the alanStudio.js file throw uncaught exceptions
I changed the condition to
if(articles === undefined)
but that just routed to error to line 17 in NewsCards.js where we display the 4 cards on the main page after trying to evaluate if(!articles.length)

I don't know why this error keeps popping up. Clearly, the articles aren't being returned hence the reason its properties are showing up as undefined. But my API key and plan are functioning well and I haven't surpassed any query limits so this is a pretty annoying issue. Please let me know if there's a way around this. It would be very appreciated as I spent a lot of time developing this and not just copying and pasting. Would be a shame if I had to drop it after all the hours spent.

Preview Image Not Found

Alan AI preview image returns 404 error.

Any ideas on how to fix it?
