Slowly building up a collection of parts we use here ... This file includes some library parts from microbuilder.eu Most of 'em are either Eagle parts that I've changed a little to make them easier to solder, some are 'handmade' and a few are from microbuilder.eu Its released into the Public Domain - that means you can do whatever you want. We'd like it if you kept the author email/url in the part description, just so we can be alerted if there are errors. Enjoy!

adafruit-eagle-library's Introduction

Adafruit Eagle Library

Now in Eagle 6 format!

Don't click on the files!

Click here to download this as a zip file.

Installation

  1. Open Eagle and select the Control Panel window.

  2. Choose Options and from the drop down that appears, Directories.

  3. Change the Libraries line from: $EAGLEDIR/lbr to something like:

    $EAGLEDIR/lbr:$HOME/external_lbrs (for OS X)

    $EAGLEDIR\lbr;$HOME\external_lbrs (for Windows)

  4. Click OK to save your changes.

  5. Eagle will prompt to create the directory if it does not already exist. Note the location and choose Yes to create the directory.

    On OS X, $HOME/external_lbrs changes to: /Users/mosfet/external_lbrs/

On Windows, $HOME\external_lbrs changes to: C:\Users\Mosfet\Documents\external_lbrs

  6. Find and open the external_lbrs folder. Unzip and drag adafruit.lbr into the new external_lbrs folder.

  7. Restart Eagle. The library should be now be usable.

adafruit-eagle-library's Issues

PJ-102A

The pads and holes for the PJ-102A are way too large.

WS2812B3535 footprint incompatible with datasheet

The LED3535 package from WS2812B-Mini (the so-called neopixel mini) with 3.5mm x 3.5mm footprint PCB footprint seems to be incompatible with the datasheet. The silkscreen notch line (apparently pointing pin 1) causes some confusion with LED notch which represents "GND". Also, the naming of pins is a mismatch if we put the LED on the footprint. If we rotate the pins it matches with datasheet, but the footprint is not suitable to keep the LED on top. I am not sure which one is correct- your footprint or datasheet. Please clarify the same.

Issue with XTAL-4

I noticed a odd thing in the adafruit.lbr when I used the XTAL-4 device. It didn't work in my design, so I looked into it, and it seems that the pins are wrongly assigned.

In the library the pads in the footprint are numbered (always top-view)
1 2
4 3
and X1 = 1, X2 = 3. But in every Datasheet (and my bought crystals) (like http://www.datasheetpro.com/pdf/NihonDempaKogyo/cu24_NX3225SA_e1.pdf) the pads are numbered
4 3
1 2
and X1 = 1, X2 = 3, meaning that the adafruit lib expects the crystal to be between 4 and 2, but it is between 1 and 3. Hope you get it fixed before others make the mistake of not checking it themselves before

I may be totally wrong that there are crystals out there where they are between 4 and 2, but at least I couldn't find them in europe.

Add CP2104

This is a common part on Adafruit products revised late 2016-early 2017, do consider adding.

MCP23017 missing from lbr

I am trying to find the MCP23017 in the Eagle Library but I am unable to find it.
There are comments stating it was added but its not there.

74*125 package

I'm trying to use the 74*125 components for a little circuit I'm working up, but it seems the eagle library has these as individual transistors, not as the full DIL-14 package. I'm not very good with Eagle yet, so I'm not exactly sure if this is on purpose, or it's just an oversight. The 74*245 seems to be correct with pinouts and form though, so I think this is just a bug. Can someone let me know if that's true, or if it's right, how to use this form? Thanks.

ARDUINO_R3_ICSP pin mapping

In the ARDUINO_R3_ICSP device, the ground mapping is wrong.
You have
G$1.GND@1 GND@3
G$1.GND@2 GND@1
G$1.GND@3 GND@2

It should be
G$1.GND@1 GND@1
G$1.GND@2 GND@2
G$1.GND@3 GND@3

Need to select "Use" under Available tab in "Manage Libraries"

Please add a note to your Readme.md.

Eagle won't use the adafruit.lbr in $HOME/external_lbrs unless you explicitly specified so.
At least in the MacOs Sierra, Eagle v8.3.1.

To Use the library just try to add a new component to the schematic, click on "Manage Libraries" button at the bottom -> Available Tab and select the adafruit library in the list, finally just click the "Use" button.

ESP-12 device package

Hi
I'm just looking for the ESP-12 part which I've been told is in this library .

Is it as I've not been able to see it. Though if it is there (which it may be) it could be a little clearer :-)

cheers

DS1307

For the RTC DS1307 the SMD footprint is mission. It is a simple SO8 package.

Not updated since 2015?

Hi,
I'm looking to put some adafruit parts into my eagle design, but the library looks about 7 years old? I'm curious about this. I'm happy to support adafruit and pay for the ease of use... but if I have to dig around to find symbols/footprints for simple parts (such as microUSB connectors), I might as well start the design sourcing parts from digikey or mouser. Ironically sparkfun has a microUSB in it's library, but not on their website. :)

Am I missing updates somewhere? Library management for my prototypes a big pain point for me.

Thanks!

MCP4922 is mislabeled

The MCP4922 appears as MCP9422 in the library. An IC with the name MCP9422 does not exist, and the one that appears in the library matches the pins of the MCP4922.

Beaglebone pins

There's a few inconsistencies in the pin directions for the BEAGLEBONE-1 symbol. GPIO1_7, GPIO2_8, GPIO2_6, GPIO2_7, GPIO2_9, GPIO2_11, AIN0, and AIN3 are all set as power pins. Not a huge deal, though it does throw a few ERC errors.

Thanks for the great library!

SAMD21J

Please could you add SAMD21J to this library?.I can see it in "Adafruit Feather M0 Proto PCB" but not the symbol in microbuilder library like eagle says

ESP-12S Pinout

Can someone idiot check the ESP-12S for me.

Looks like GIPO 4 and GIPO 5 are switched.

Cheers.

invalid data in eagle 5.6.0

I can't use that library with eagle free edition 5.6.0 for windows, the error message is "invalid data in file XXX".

ESP32 WROOM

Hi,

I believe the ESP32 is missing. Is possible to add it?

Thank You

Doesn't work

I downloaded the most recent files (7/24/15) and followed the instructions. When I try to open the library in Eagle 7.1.0 I get the following error:

"Loading D:/Documents/external_lbrs/adafruit.lbr ...

Error:

line 5, column 41: This is not an EAGLE file."

No more updates?

This is an essential service. I really miss the newer devices

ESP8266 pinouts

GPIO pins 4 and 5 should be flipped (GPIO5 --> 14, GPIO4 -->13)

atmega32u4

PB2 is in correctly listed as MISO (actually MOSI)
PC6 is incorrectly listed as oc1a (actually oc3a or /oc4a)

R0805 bad silkscreen

I noticed that the R0805 package has tPlace, silkscreen, over the pads.
It looks like other SMD resistors do not have silkscreen.
