Install the following before setting up the project

Tip

Install pyenv to manage multiple versions of python. This project requires Python 3.9+. We wil be using native type annotations that is not available in veresions below this

cd knowme

Activate the virtual environment

poetry shell 

Install the dependencies

poetry install

This also installs the knowme command line tool that helps you setup the repository quickly

We have included a straightforward command to help you set up the project. This command writes the necessary environment variables to a .env file in the project’s root directory.

a. Setup the directories

Setup the directories to store the data that you upload.

b. Setup the OpenAI Key

Know Me currently supports OpenAI models. This requires you to add an OpenAI API key.
