Welcome to the Oscar's Movie Database Visualization Project! Here, you'll find exploration of Oscar-winning films, spanning decades of cinematic achievement. Our database offers a straightforward journey through the world of movie excellence, from timeless classics to the latest standout performances through interactive visualizations. Plus, we've thrown in a prediction model to spice things up. Using various features, it takes a stab at guessing which movies might be next in line for the coveted Oscar spotlight.

Getting Started

Before you start, make sure you have Python 3.x installed on your system. You can download Python from the official website.

  1. Clone the repo using git clone.
git clone https://github.com/aavishkar6/whoWillWinOscar.git
  1. Navigate to the project rdirectory.
cd whoWillWinOscar
  1. Activate virtual environment in your computer using pipenv
pipenv shell

If you do not have pipenv installed, visit here

You can choose not to install any virtual environments and run the project but it is not recommended to do so. If you dont want to install pipenv, skip step 3 and 4.

  1. Download project dependencies.
pipenv install
  1. Run the webapp using flask run.
flask run
  1. Go to http://localhost:5000 to access the web app.
