How much of an issue is this ?

The message is truncated at 400 characters, so it is entirely possible the URL will be truncated, making it broken.

If you remove everything within brackets, then you could potentially break code snippets inserted, which I admit won't happen as often as images.

You could put it the post through hooks before sending it, rendering everything, but then truncating it could leave a tag open. So, you would have to truncate, THEN put through hooks.

Or you could live with broken images in mail clients, which they'll see when they visit the site.

@ccandreva Big deal to me. These aren't just broken images, but also broken links with visible bbcode. Been annoying for years.
