framework-res.apk replaced, only force closes now about android-apktool HOT 8 CLOSED

As far as I know you can't push framework-res.apk just like that. Try to not 
use 
apktool, pull file, resign, push and if you will get same problems, then it's 
not 
related to apktool.

I *must* user apktool:(  because I'd like to add a new locale values.
And unpack is not enaugh :(
When I boot, I can new local work (lock screen, date are localized) but wenn ich
unlock the screen only force closes.

OK I'll try only zu repack, to see, if it is ab apktool issue.

P.S.
are the logs dumpt somewhere? I can not see which error lead to force closes.
adb can not be / is not started at this moment.

Hmm... adb logcat should work at this time. It doesn't work on very first steps 
of 
system booting.

I really don't recommend this way.

AFAIK you must create update.zip file with your framework-res.apk, then sign it 
using 
testsigner and install from recovery. You should search for help on IRC or some 
rom 
cooking forums. When you will succeed in running unmodified framework-res.apk, 
you 
could think about apktooling it, for now this doesn't make much sense :-)

what do you me by framework-res.apk?


Currently there is no way to have a custom update.zip on motorola milestone.
There is a chance to put 63kb data to original update.zip
Perhaps putting apk to /sdcard and wokr on update-script? I must try.
But is there any official update.zip, containing framework-res.apk.
I'd like to see, how update-script does it's job!


Guys on german forum android-hilfe.de ar modding framework-res.apk, but only 
images
and they told me, they never unpack apk. They open apk with winzip and putting 
modded
images in back to the zip. Ther never re-sign framework-res.apk. And this is 
working.
I do not understand how, but it works!

I ain't rom cooker, so I just don't know how to do these things for Milestone, 
sorry.
