I am also facing similar issue but with java library. Did someone got solution for this.
And also i dont have workaround as well

same case. my version is 4.2.2..
gdb found
proxy.cpp:144 endless loop
normal case will block on proxy.cpp:144

Mixing PULL and XPUB in the proxy is a little weird to me. Can you instead try the architecture as shown here:
The high cpu issues go away for me when using the architecture above
