Looks like this might be relevant: http://wiki.apache.org/solr/SchemaRESTAPI
My understanding is that there may be a different schema for each Solr core. If this is the case, then we should attempt to get the schema for each core individually and modify the appropriate sections in the Solr DocManager to clean up documents for the core they will be stored in. If there are no namespaces provided to the DocManager in the namespace_set keyword argument, we can get all the field names by sending a GET request to http://<host>/solr/schema.
