Hi,

What did you do before the bookmarks dissapear? Did you manually delete the bookmarks extension?

What version of Chrome are you using?

You can check to see if all data are removed by doing the following:

  1. Open the developer tools (F12).
  2. Click the tab Resources.
  3. Expand IndexedDB.
  4. Click on bookmark.

If you see records on the right side, your data is still there. Otherwise, it is gone.

I have been using the extension since I created, and I have never lost any data. A couple people mentioned that they missed data as well, but they never told me what did they do before data loss.

Your Chrome version is the latest from DEV channel. To see the IndexedDB of the bookmark extension, you need to open the extension first. Open the bookmark extension, right-click on it to Inspect Element. Then navigate the IndexedDB as shown in your screenshot. If you don't see any data on the right pane, you lost the data for ever. If you do see them, there are ways to recover them.

I think you might have the "Hosted app data" checked in the "Clear browsing data" dialog.

Hi Yguan
great extension. Thank you. I lost all my tags, but using the instructions above I can see they still exist in the DB. How may I recover them? Thanks

Unfortunately it looks like only the last 7 tags are saved. No way to recover the preceding 100's that I had? Is there any way to backup the db once in awhile?
Thanks
