That's cool. One thing different from the Medium implementation is that placeholder disappears on focus, when on Medium it disappears when I'm starting to type. The latter seems to have a better UX.

would be great to just build it into this editor - simple enough and quite
a standard feature? Definitely covers an area of lacking from
contenteditable.

I agree with @websirnik, it should hide the placeholder only when I start typing. The problem is, when is the contenteditable empty? When it has no text? No children?

True, forgot about that, we overwrite the paste event for the plain text functionality. Gonna take a look later on! :)

Love it - but the custom placeholder is not overriding 'type your text'. I
will check this morning to see if other jquery is interfering on this local
project.
