Thanks for the bug report / suggestion. You're certainly right that this confuses people, see issue #19. I'll likely implement the code change you suggested. The alternative would be to make this very clear in the documentation, but I mostly prefer to create software that Just Works™.

This should be fixed in version 1.7.2 released just now. Thanks for the bug report! I'm closing this issue now, but if you have problems with the new version feel free to reopen this issue.
