This is doable, but I think it would be a larger change than you might expect. Plugins currently only retrieve up to the first 20 results, and there's no real infrastructure in place to determine the "actual" number of results (some sites may report that, others may not).
In the future I would like to add complete support in the client to go through every result, in which case we can determine the number of results. For now I particularly don't really want to show "found 400 results!" while having a hardcoded cap of 20 to display.
