Attached the filezilla log to show unneeded connections being made.
Trying to copy on file sitting on top of a folder containing more than 3500 folders (including subfolders) now already runs for 15 minutes and counting...

If source contains the full filename to be copied it does not recurse into the subfolders.
If one wanted to copy files matching a certain pattern from the top of a folder structure the problem still exists.
A new flag should be introduced to define whether the copy job should desend into the subfolders (recursive=true; default behaviour) or not (recursive=false; custom behaviour)
