works ok node 14 as you pointed out in discord but breaks in 15,16

Just now updated to 14.7.0 and npm init astro@shhhh did initialize without complaints again.

This issue now occurs in node v14.17.0 , too. Hard-setting v14.16 works as a temporary workaround.

I do get the very same error with node v14.16.1 and npm 7.12.1 as of today...

first time run, seeing error above with node 14.17.0, (curiously works wtih pnpm init...)
