I am not exactly sure how your AJAX call is coded and so I assume that it's using jQuery's $.ajax() function?

If you are using that, then you can possibly call draw_chart() in the $.ajax's success callback, after you have added the chart to the DOM.

That is how I'm going about it; just wanted to know if this could be handled by modifying the render_chart function to generate the above JS for AJAX calls.

You can definitely monkey-patch the render_chart method to do whatever you need.

Otherwise, I don't think there's a clean way to do it for ajax loads.
