There appears to be 3 times it queries files:
- Get the total number of files for the time and space estimates
- Get the file list - no metadata
- Scan each file in the list for metadata
1&2 can be combined into the same task, and just pass along the file list! 😄
(Also, I've been testing with 10,000+ files on a remote file system, so it takes a lot longer than a second! 😆)

Sounds good. If I remember right, the first time it only cares about the total number of files (takes very little time, under 1 second usually). The second time it queries the metadata of the files (takes a lot longer: can be >10 seconds depending on the number of files).
Please let me know if you meant something else or if I'm misremembering what my app is doing 😅
