...maybe navigate to node_modules/webpack-dev-server and run npm run-script prepublish which will build the live-bundle if I am not mistaken.

The breaking change occurred in 1.6.5. 1.6.4 works fine.

It works fine for me...

Maybe just your install is broken... Try to reinstall it...

Tried multiple times. 1.6.4 works, 1.6.5 doesn't.

I'll try again when I get time.

Does the file exists in the folder?

@tdeekens just ran into the same issue. building live.bundle.js helped to solve it

@akovalev same here. Building live.bundle.js solved it for me as well

Ran into it myself today - but am pretty sure it worked out of the box before.

Feels like the npm install of the main project must have done the npm install within the webpack-dev-server folder but now is not doing it anymore ?!

We should really figure that out because it freak out everybody who is totally new to all this.

@tdeekens I wonder why the live bundle didn't get built and published to npm though?

tdeekens avatar tdeekens commented on May 6, 2024

That I didn't understand either.

@BerndWessels, were you able to solve this issue? If not, could you provide some more info? What node and npm version are you using? And does it still happen with the latest node and npm versions? Does it still happen with [email protected]?

I'm closing this issue because of inactivity. Feel free to comment, and we can always re-open it again.
