I found that commenting out the "executable":
option (which calls file
) and instead manually calling
add-symbol-file C:/dev/My/Path/MyElfFile.elf 0x8020000
successfully parses the ELF file and sets the offset to 0x8020000.
This means I can now type p VariableName
and having the value returned, as opposed to having to lookup the absolute address beforehand.
Perhaps the call to file
can be dropped and an offset option could be added? Then you could use add-symbol-file
instead.

As I'm on limited remote debugging, I will not be able to support this. Would be nice if somebody could fix this with a more general approach than mine without breaking local debugging.
