个人感觉 Applet 和 Java Applet 的名字相似，可能会引起歧义。

- 微信小程序：WeChat mini programs

其实细想一下， 小程序的核心并不是小， 而是嵌入到另一个app里， 根据另一个app作者的规定来写代码， 类似于在虚拟机内跑代码。“小”只是产品上的考虑。 所以也许可以考虑类似“虚拟机”这种名字， 或者“嵌入式”这种名字来考虑命名。

小生觉得，如果直译“轻量”，也许 “lightweight app” 更合适。 而从构建的角度来讲，各类型小程序的本质都是脚本,不论js或其他依赖执行环境的脚本语言.
因此提议 Lightweight Script App,LSApp.

简单粗暴，我们有部分系统也是这么命名的。 不过我还是喜欢叫 mini app
