I now think the original concept for animation was too advanced. A simpler
approach should be used. There
should be one abstract CPAnimation class. A CPGraph should have a method called
performAnimation: which
triggers the animation. There may also be properties in CPGraph that allow
animations to be used for build in
and build out, but how the animations are organized in general should be up to
the calling code.

Hi ,
would like to create pie chart fill animation,
so that the pie starts empty then fill itself in any direction (clock
wise or antilock wise,

You can animate the end angle (new since 1.0) to stretch the slices out until
they fill the full circle.
