renv 12 in my renv.lock file breaks the 'compilation' about heroku-buildpack-r HOT 5 CLOSED

Can you please check that the renv version in your renv.lock file agrees with the version in the ./renv/activate.R file.

I suspect they are different which would explain the error you are getting.

I made sure both lockfile and activate file were the same (12) and it failed again.
Manually changing both to 11 made the push work.
Changing both to 12 failed the push.
So I think the renv buildversion is hardcoded in the buildpack? Could it be that the uploaded file is ignored? Or is it the cache that overrides the uploaded files?

Yeah, could you try after clearing the cache.

renv isn't included anywhere in the buildpack.

I think I was wrong, I redid the purge cache (Maybe I cancelled it because it took a long while and I thought it was done or stuck ...) and retried renv version 12 and it works now!
