Hello @yingxiayin.

What are the steps you are taking to create the public folder?

Hello @victoriadrake
I think I have the same issues.
I used cmd to run hugo, after this I got the Public folder. And then, I tried to deploy that Public folder to Github Pages but the result was empty. I got nothing.
Here is my Public folder: https://github.com/pubertygirl/mynh.git
Here is my Github Pages: https://pubertygirl.github.io/mynh/
Please help me fix this problem.

Thank you so much.

Hello @pubertygirl,

The site is not empty, but it is missing CSS and some pages.

Please follow the instructions and configure your config.toml file. I can see that your website still has baseurl as https://example.com/. It should be your GitHub Pages URL.

Please make sure you are using "extended" Hugo as well. You can get it from the releases page.

Thank you for your answer @victoriadrake,

I changed the baseurl to my page Github Pages URL and after that I can't create the Public file. CMD told me something about the PostCSS:
2020-01-13 04_55_03-C__Windows_System32_cmd exe

And yes, I'm using the "extended" Hugo.

Please read the output carefully; it says that PostCSS was not found, and gives you instructions on how to install it. PostCSS is necessary for extended Hugo to compile the CSS files. Iโ€™ve updated the README with more precise instructions.

If you donโ€™t have npm installed, you will need that first. You can find instructions here.

I am new to npm and didn't realize you needed to do an npm init before the npm install. It may be worth adding it to the instructions for others who are also new to this.

@yingxiayin Please let me know or reopen the issue if you are still having problems after following the instructions!
