I just found out, that overwriting CSS rule in custom file does not have any effect. Would be good to not be forced to call ngProgress.color("blue"), but instead simply write in CSS: #ngProgress {color: blue;}

Just found out that this is solved in https://github.com/voronianski/ngprogress-lite - I recommend that one. Thanks @voronianski

I submitted a pull request that should resolve this issue.
In the meantime it looks like ngprogress-lite would be a great alternative.
