Also, I just realised you don't even need to mount it. nginx works even without the static part. Maybe you could mention that too somewhere?

Yes it works, like any other http reverse proxy, but the main advantage of nginx is that it can serve static files by itself, avoiding data transfers between nginx and the proxied server.

For a simple proxy everything, the traefik example does not mount static files, this examples was to show how to use the nginx to load balance static files
