verified using text book bv raman, we can verify again no problem but first I need a screenshot of the Astro sage data that you used to compare

from vedastro.

@AbhayVivek if possible please post the wrong results that are coming out from the API with the corresponding URL so I can verify it with the Astro sage screenshot that you gave above

Finally we can mark this issue as resolved 😃

Before explain solution below are some facts to help understand what is going on.

FACTS:

  • 2 x seperate "ancient" texts exist in English translation online that talk calculation steps for "Shadbala"
    • Brihat Parashara Hora Shastra
    • Phaladeepika
  • each text "known" text above has different method for each sub-bala calculation (go read the Sanskrit translation yourself, you'll see difference in math order and algorithm, but both use the word shadbala)
  • more unknown text still in "Hindi" or "Sanskrit" being used by astrosage? does astrosage say which one of the tens of book they use?

QUESTION:

  • So which calculation to use? Which text is lying and which is telling truth?

ANSWER :

Both are correct. Only "sub-bala" will miss, because the math algorithm varies,
but once all the points have been totaled --> SHADBALA. Values from astrosage & vedastro match >80%, error rate <20%.
Meaning, the order of the strengths does not change even if small values change underneath.

@AbhayVivek please don't take my answer as final, if you can find a better answer, or further issue to proof that error is above >20%, then I will dig deeper, because real problem. Else 20% mismatch rate is very good in my opinion. Hence will mark as resolved upon your confirmation. 🙏
