Thanks for reporting the bug. If you haven't managed to resolve this issue yet please change the following line:
https://github.com/upnext/BeaconControl/blob/master/app/views/layouts/application.html.erb#L18 to:
<script src="https://maps.google.com/maps/api/js?key=YOUR_GMAPS_API_KEY" type="text/javascript"></script>
To obtain your API key please follow the link: https://developers.google.com/maps/documentation/javascript/get-api-key
