Implementing the Help -> Ipe manual functionality about ipe.appimage HOT 3 CLOSED

I had a quick look at https://github.com/probonopd/AppImageKit, and it seems that inside the appimage all paths are relative to the root. That should already work to open the manual.html file - but it doesn't, because Ipe prefixes the path with file:/// (I think this was necessary on Windows, but it only works with absolute paths).

What you can do is in actions.lua, change the line (in the function action_manual:

   local url = "file:///" .. config.docdir .. "/manual.html"

into

  local url = config.docdir .. "/manual.html"

Then opening the manual from the Help menu should work.

It turns out that it's not quite that simple. The problem is that AppRun changes the setting of XDG_DATA_DIRS, which causes xdg-open to fail finding the right mimetype association for the HTML file. So in addition to this change one seems to need to change

prefs.browser = "unset XDG_DATA_DIRS && xdg-open %s"

With this change it works.
