User-defined here simply means it's not a core filter. For example, in PHP a user-defined function: my_function()
, is highlighted separately from a library function: array()
.
Anything following a pipe that's preceded by a valid PHP identifier is highlighted as a user-defined filter, assuming it's not a core filter. If you want your extension's filters to be highlighted the same as the core filters just tack them on.
Otherwise maybe it's a theme issue? Most themes do not support the bundle. You can try one of my themes or editing the one you're currently using. The bundle's scopes are listed in the README.
