Can we support "call" by appropriately interpreting the signature of "f"?

That can we can design a special typing rule for

e.call(e1...en)

Where the type for e has a distinguished first parameter "this"?

Yes I think this is probably the simplest way to go about it.

(The other being doing what TS does: adding call as a special binding in the Function object)

Either works. Btw as a general practice I suggest adding a concrete test in the todo/pos or neg directory that SHOULD work once the feature is added.. And linking to it in the issue ...
