I would look into this. Theoretically, using a crate such as semver (implements Cargo-style semver requirements) could be an option here. However, since the compiler requirement is currently interpreted as a greater-or-equal comparison, that probably doesn't make a lot of sense, right?
Would you agree that "rolling our own" is the preferred course of action here?
