Have you tried the br() method?

I don't want to change the renderer but the token/regex in the lexer...

from markdown.

KostyaTretyak avatar KostyaTretyak commented on May 27, 2024

But you wrote:

I would like to use a backslash \ instead of double spaces to render a line break

and lexer it is not about render.

from markdown.

My mistake, english is not my main language...

OK. If you need InlineLexer to change regexp for br token, there is currently no easy way to accomplish this.

However, if you are satisfied with the local version of this library, you can:

git clone [email protected]:ts-stack/markdown.git ts-stack-markdown
cd ts-stack-markdown
npm i

change the regex here then run:

npx tsc

and in dist folder you will have your own version of this library.

For now I use a dirty solution without forking the module..., not ideal performance-wise and all render methods need to be adjusted.

class CustomRenderer extends Renderer {
  paragraph(text) {
    return `<p>${text.replace(/\\/g,'<br>')}</p>`
  }
  ...
}

Would it be possible to add an override method for the lexer/inline-lexer in a future release?
