could you provide a few examples please? (area/quest which needs this magic)

The quest have an area where the questender is that don't exist when you use .gps. And instead phase the whole zone phase a WMO Area Phase will be better option.
Also The Shadow priest artifact questline scenario use the WMO for apply/remove auras based in if you enter or not in the area. (But that should be another feature for spell_area or something)
