I understand your point. However, in our architecture, where we run multiple Blockbook instances behind Cloudflare and nginx, we need to know where we end up and what build is running.
While it would be possible to add configuration option, I recommend to remove the following lines from your instance to achieve the same thing.

Making the suggested change that seems to not change the output for json api. It appears api output is hard coded.

func (s *PublicServer) apiIndex(r *http.Request) (interface{}, error) {

func (w *Worker) GetSystemInfo(internal bool) (*SystemInfo, error) {

You are right, the API returns it too. You can disable it by setting the JSON annotations on the following lines to json:"-".
