Regarding what Touhouwiki says for IN Stage 4, that is false.
If you look at the top left while fighting Reimu or Marisa, you will see that they have 5 health bars, corresponding to their total number of Spell Cards. This shows that there is a single connected boss fight at the end of the stage. It is consistent with the boss theme playing non-stop as well, as it does during all boss fights.
It just happens to be interrupted by a stage portion.
