I also used color often aswelll ... handling it would be a low hanging fruit and a nice improvement

I’d suggest that a bot (Wall·E?) should correct the misspelled tag. IMO having a bot which corrects common misspellings is better than implementing support for every possible misspelling in each and every software.

Thants an good point .... but especially if there are two ways to write
it and both ways/tags are out there an double implementation would be
"ok" in my point of view.
I think there some guys out there thinking that colour is written wrong :-)

Although still present in the database, the proportion of misspelled colour values has gradually declined over the past four years. Due to this, I no longer see a need to support alternative spellings.
