Biostasis is a mobile application contains a pulse alert system that uses smartwatch data to detect the user's pulse and triggers an multi-stage emergency system if no pulse is detected within a specific time frame. The application is built with Typescript programming language and consists of frontend, backend and cloud repositories.

• FrontEnd 📱

  The frontend repository (MobileApp) developed using the React Native framework, which provides an intuitive user interface and efficient performance on both Android and iOS platforms. Also, Swift was used to develop the application logic on IOS. The front-end utilizes Firebase, a powerful mobile application development platform, to manage data, cloud messaging and notifications. Redux is also integrated into the front-end to efficiently manage React components.

• BackEnd 🖥️

  The backend repository utilizes a wide range of technologies to provide a reliable and scalable system. Node.js is used as the runtime environment, and Redis as a cache memory to enhance the system's performance. MySQL is the primary database, and uses TypeORM which is a modern and readable way to handle database queries and mapping objects into db records. NestJS a progressive Node.js framework. Docker enables easy deployment and management of the application.

• AWS Cloud Services ☁️

  The application is hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and uses the following services for infrastructure and security:

  • Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2) for virtual computing resources.
  • Elastic Container Service (ECS) for container management.
  • Elastic Container Registry (ECR) for secure storage and retrieval of Docker images.
  • Elasticache for Redis for caching and optimization.
  • Relational Database Service (RDS) for database management
  • Cognito for user authentication and authorization
  • Simple Storage Service (S3) for object storage
  • Route53 for DNS management
  • Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) for network isolation and security
  • Elastic Load Balancing (ELB) for distributing incoming traffic across multiple instances
