Apparently the last "error" is caused by using non-escaped $1
.
The problem with window name, which I managed to reproduce running tests, is caused by bash which sets window name to some default value. Using window_shell="sh"
I managed to make it work. The following patch is enough to pass the tests:
diff --git a/libtmux/session.py b/libtmux/session.py
index ed5aab5..c8a912d 100644
--- a/libtmux/session.py
+++ b/libtmux/session.py
@@ -193,6 +193,8 @@ class Session(
if window_shell:
window_args += (window_shell,)
+ else:
+ window_args += ("sh",)
proc = self.cmd('new-window', *window_args)
But I am still not sure it is the correct change. It might be better to simply warn that window name was not set properly if we can detect that bash changed it.

Can you double check which libtmux version this is?
