Hey, I'm curious - how can you use the choose-tree command with a "custom content"? Can you give me an example that will ie display a list with "foo" and "bar"?
I'm re-reading tmux manpage again but can't figure that out.

This would be very convenient for users because they can then navigate the list with vi/emacs keys

Oh, I agree, it would be great.

Oh I'm sorry, I meant choose-list!

tmux choose-list -l "foo,bar"

Hm, I tried that and it seems my tmux version doesn't have that command. It's also not documented in the manpage. I'm running a couple weeks old version built from source (tmux -V reports tmux 2.0).

Too bad, but this command seems to be removed.

You're right, I just installed from source and it's gone now.

Here is a thread where they discuss it, and he explains his motivation for removing it in the 4th post. I had plans to make use of it for a personal project---now I'm glad I am such a big procrastinator!

choose-list was super useful. I used it to display a small overlay-like help text, reminding me of my custom key bindings (I did not even attach real actions to each entry). Bummer.
