Thanks for the report. It is a known issue: macOS scales up windows which aren't explicitly set to use high-DPI. Should be an easy fix for the next release. Out of curiosity, what is your screen resolution?
Dev note: I think we're just missing SDL_WINDOW_ALLOW_HIGHDPI from the window flags.

This is a MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2017), graphics are:
Radeon Pro 555 2 GB
Intel HD Graphics 630 1536 MB
Display: 15.4-inch (2880 x 1800)
