Issues when force-closing the game after character dies about broguece HOT 4 CLOSED

Yeah, I can reporoduce it too. If you keep clicking the X on the window it eventually closes ;)

I can't reproduce this on Linux.

The pauses at the end of the game are done in gameOver (RogueMain.c) and waitForAcknowledgement (IO.c). Both use a loop just like this:

} while (!(theEvent.eventType == KEYSTROKE && (theEvent.param1 == ACKNOWLEDGE_KEY || theEvent.param1 == ESCAPE_KEY)
            || theEvent.eventType == MOUSE_UP));

When you close the window, the SDL backend emits a ESCAPE_KEY KEYSTROKE Brogue event - so I would expect the game to fall through the pauses and quit. Maybe it's something to do with SDL event handling.

Interestingly I can repro this (at least the "you die..." one) with DEBUG=NO but not with YES.
