Various responsiveness issues with input about broguece HOT 5 CLOSED

Does anyone we can speak to observed the former? Are we sure that it's not just standard keyboard repeat delay, and that the user actually means "pressed and held" by "pressed repeatedly"?

I tested this on Windows 10 by pressing an arrow in new brogue, old brogue and in notepad. I do not see any noticable difference. Also the processing time of a single keystorke is under 50ms - which I found by instrumeting the main loop.

Yeah, I think the first concerns repeat delay. When I compared vanilla and CE on Linux, I noticed vanilla had a lower delay. Maybe the user has a longer-than-normal setting?

I saw reports that SDL's Event Poll is slightly slower on Linux than on Windows in general.

Right now I'm playing a game with two dar priestess allies, and when they are casting lightning across the map, there is a fairly long interval during the animation where my keystrokes have no effect.

This is a pretty big problem for a fast typing player like me, with multiple keystroke sequences in muscle memory, when part of the sequence is ignored. Can have completely unintended consequences.
