There should not be. By default it uses cache locking (memcache say) and the same job will never run in parallel. Now you can override it at a cron level and allow parallel runs.

db locks are tangential issue of course, which you'll have to manage outside of this app.

I don't run memcache on these app servers. I'm not sure I understand how it prevents multiple web servers behind an ELB from running the same task? Can you explain a little more how this works out of the box? Sorry I'm being thick!

See cache imports in the code. You need to have some kind of distributed cache of course to use this on multiple servers.

Thanks for the code link. Makes sense! Appreciate your help very much. These tasks will not be run very often so it looks like we can just turn on the database cache backend and it should work fine.
