That might also not work.
I'll provide a way on the configuration to provide default values for custom fields.

Can these fields be fetched from LDAP instead? For example, phones, skypes, etc. It is almost the same as first an last names and email fields, you just have to add <redmine_field, ldap_field> mapping to the "Attributes to be synced" section.
