Hello,
At the moment there is unfortunately no way to use a grid to position helices in an elliptic shape.
The only way to arrange helices in an elliptic shape would be to directly edit the coordinates of the helices in the .ens file.

This advice is extremely useful! If I can override the coordinates in the .ens file without any inconsistencies, I can accurately fine-tune the geometry with a simple script. Is this the coordinate that can be rewritten? I will give it a try! Thanks!

If you do that, you also need to remove the "grid_position" field, or to give it a null
value
