To build the runtime, you need to install a couple of dependencies: gyp and ninja.

Copying from the firmware documentation, if you're running Mac OS X and have Homebrew installed, you can run these commands:

brew tap tcr/tcr
brew install gcc-arm gyp ninja

Otherwise, you can look at GypHacking to set up gyp and look at NinjaBuild for ninja.

Once these dependencies are installed, assuming you have build tools (on Mac OS X, this comes with the XCode command line tools), you can run

make libtm
make colony
npm install

And then...

npm test

To actually build the firmware and deploy it, you can look at the README here: https://github.com/tessel/firmware.

I don't have my Tessel yet, so I haven't tried it.

Oh, I just remembered I also had to install colony-compiler globally.

npm install colony-compiler -g

from t1-runtime.
