What I meant to say is: windows is not currently supported. I would be interested in providing windows support if somebody stepped up to do the work, but I don't have capacity to do it myself. I will add something to the README to that effect.

Oh, well that explains it :)
PhantomJS does fully support windows AFAIK, so what exactly does poltergeist do that isn't supported on windows?
I may be interested in picking up the ball.

Well, PhantomJS working on windows would be a starting point :) I know some people have tried, I don't know how well they work.

On the poltergeist side, the main areas of compatibility problems would be our use of socket APIs and process spawning. I don't know how well either of those things work on windows.

PhantomJS has a Windows build (http://code.google.com/p/phantomjs/downloads/list)
which as far as I can tell is fully functional. I couldn't find anywhere on the site where it lists any caveats on that version and running it against a simple hello world script works well.
I'll take a look at it tomorrow and see if I can work something out.
