Feature Request: Masking about flump HOT 5 CLOSED

Unfortunately, this is non-trivial: the way that Flash handles masks would be difficult to replicate in Flump, and would likely be slow. So while this is probably possible, it isn't a feature we're likely to implement (though we welcome pull requests!)

You can nest a masked sprite in a container movie clip and that will publish with the mask intact, but you won't be able to animate the background within the mask since everything besides the top level movie has to be a sprite (AFAIK).

What about support for masking MoveClips in the future? Animation effects are really limited without the ability to mask.

Hey SoleilSmile - it's possible, though it's unlikely to happen unless somebody who needs the feature also implements it, as it's a non-trivial amount of work.

However, with Starling's recent support of the stencil buffer it may be a bit easier to implement now than when we began on Flump a few years ago.
