Looks like I made a mistake. The handler function returns (1), which is the output from a clojure.java.jdbc function. I still get what the stacktrace is saying but I guess I'll just have the function return nil.

Okay, that makes more sense. The problem here is that your handler should always return a map. The correct form is described in the worker fn docstring.

Actually, you're supposed to receive a warning about this - you've spotted a bug. Just pushed v2.1.3 which correctly provides a warning for incorrect return values.

Thanks. It looks like you haven't pushed the new version to Clojars yet. Also, I think it'd be better to have the examples in the README show that the handler should be returning a map.
