You're mixing up the POST and PUT methods. Try changing the last line to "c.http_post(put_data)".

This is one of the unfortunate issues with the interface... hopefully using http_post solves the issue?

Oh! But I actually want to do a PUT, for a rails update, but I guess I can just throw the _method in there.
Thanks! It is working now with c.http_post(*put_data).
This was one of those cases that you stare at something so long you lose the details. I guess some other error message would have helped.

Okay, I believe where that error message is thrown I have added a hint about ensuring http_post is called... Not 100% that is the right condition.
